Barcode Dispatch
Every order gets a unique barcode the moment it is created. At the packing desk, a USB scanner reads that barcode into a single input field — the order moves to Dispatched, stock decrements for every item, and a courier is assigned, all inside one transaction.
Order created → barcode generated
Scanner reads barcode at packing desk
Stock decremented + courier assigned
Order marked Dispatched
Frequently asked questions
Do I need special scanning hardware?+
No — any USB barcode scanner works. It types into the input field like a keyboard and fires Enter.
What happens if I scan the same barcode twice?+
The second scan is rejected with "Order already DISPATCHED" — the order keeps its original status.
Does dispatch update inventory immediately?+
Yes. Stock decrements in the same transaction as the status change, so your inventory count is never out of sync with what left the warehouse.
